I’ m a self confessed Netflix-aholic.
I love being the first to have completed a show and I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing. I watch it on the way to and from work every evening and any other opportunity I can find.
I usually finish a show with some kind of relief though, it’s a weird feeling.
Lately though, I’ve been watching Season 3 of a show I binged a year or two ago and I really do love everything about it.
Easy is an American comedy-drama anthology series.
(For those of you who don’t know what an anthology series is it’s the ones that have different stories and characters in each episode, kind of like Skins)
The series follows several individuals living in Chicago who are deal with the various issues related to “modern love”.
Here’s why I think it’s the best series on Netflix right now:
It’s Unique
I’ve never watched anything like this show.
Watching it I felt like I really knew the characters and they resembled actual people in my own life. The storylines are simplistic yet still deal with complex issues such as open relationships, BDSM, breakups, makeups and big life decisions.
There’s no fairytale love story, the characters you so desperately want to be together end up breaking up because of life matters, that’s real life.
Being in love is in fact, not Easy.

You Can Watch Any Episode
Because it’s an anthology series, you can jump in wherever. You don’t have to binge on a rake of episodes to find out what happens in the end.
If there’s a certain episode you don’t particularly enjoy you can switch it off half way and jump onto the next.
The characters in the episodes also appear in the background of other stories too which is pretty cool because it shows they’re all connected somehow.

The Characters Are Real
This is one of the main reasons I love this show.
Everyone is real and… normal.
You see every kind of body shape, size, age, every sexual orientation and every kind of couple.
It’s not this glorified or glossy like the movies. The sex scenes are awkward, passionate, loving and raw.
There’s no good or bad characters, everyone is just living in this world trying to figure their shit out.

It Explores The Struggles Of Modern Love In A Real And Raw Way
Let’s be real, love is tough.
Back in the day our grandparents probably met at a dance, married and never split. It’s not like that anymore, relationships can be very complicated.
The show explores modern love and how we deal with it as individuals. It shows both sides of the story equally.
It shows the basics of human connectivity.

Episodes Are Bitesize
Episodes are about 25 mins long so its ideal for your morning commute.
You don’t have to dedicate your whole evening to watching an episode.

It’s An Emotional Rollercoaster
Literally.
One minute you think someone’s an a-hole, the next you understand their side of things. Couples who you love split up, their hearts are broken as well as yours.
Storylines take a complete unexpected turn.
You’ll laugh, cry, wince, blush and love all at the same time.
