It’s that time of year when people in the Rebel City celebrate all things Pride and as usual, the 2019 schedule is packed with activities.
The weekend will get underway with a community BBQ at Voxpro on Friday evening followed by Paul Ryder’s Ringmasters Drag Race at Rubys later on in the night.
The Pride Village will open at Bishop Lucey Park at noon on Saturday where revellers will be able to enjoy some summer tunes and grab a bite to eat before heading over to the Trans & Queer Coffee Morning at Scrypt at 2pm.
Other events on the day include a Bi Ireland Games Evening in Chambers at 4pm and a Women Only Pride Party at Kino 8pm.
On Sunday, you can get things going again with the Pride Breakfast Morning at Gay Project from 11am before the parade takes pride (geddit?) of place on Grand Parade from 1pm. Participants will then march around the streets of Cork amidst a sea of colourful floats, drag queens and glitter.
Since it’s a Bank Holiday, there’ll be no harm in partying long into the night and you can do that at Havana Browns where Detox from Rupaul’s Drag Race will be hitting the stage from 10pm. There’s also an option of a meet and greet from 8pm.
A fairly decent line-up, it has to be said. More information can be found here.
