The Cork Jazz Festival has wrapped up for another year, with plenty of memories made to keep music lovers going for another 12 months. The annual event had attendees spoiled for choice with plenty of renowned Irish and international acts rolling into the Rebel City over the weekend.

One such star was 78-year-old Martha Reeves who wowed the audience at Cork City Hall on Saturday night and to celebrate, she went for the ‘when in Rome’ approach. Raising a pint of the black stuff, Reeves toasted “the good life”, to much approval from those in attendance. You can catch the moment in the below clip…

Reeves went on to declare “I’ve been drinking this stuff since 1962,” during a show in which herself and her band The Vandellas belted out some of their well-known hits like Nowhere To Run and Dancing In The Street.

It was just one of several shows that blew audiences away over the weekend, with the likes of Sinead O’Connor and Mica Paris also receiving rave reviews.
