While the world has been coming together to combat climate change today, the person that gave millions the push they needed has been watching it all unfold.
Greta Thunberg, who caught the world’s attention when she stopped attending school until the 2018 Swedish General Election last year, has inspired millions of others to follow suit today. Around the globe, children have dropped their pencils and left their school to join the Climate Change protests taking place in towns and cities worldwide.
Amid scenes of solidarity around the world, 16-year-old Greta has been sharing various clips on her Twitter account and one city that has caught her eye is our very own Cork. The following video taken by Twitter user Mairead Spillane was shared by Greta on her own timeline and it can be viewed below:

As well as that, she also shared a pretty phenomenal clip taken in Dublin by RTÉ’s Philip Bromwell…

It looks like the day so far has been a huge success and it will definitely be hard for politicians to ignore. Let’s just hope they start taking some action.
