Forced to temporarily close last month after a part-time staff member tested positive for Covid-19, the popular Lahinch local has confirmed that they’re back in business as of today.
Informing the public that they would be closed ‘until further notice’, a post on the Cornerstone Facebook page revealed that they would be shutting their doors after a part-time staff member test positive for Covid-19. Adding that the staff member in question contracted the virus outside of the work environment, all other staff members were tested as a precautionary measure.
Disappointed to close after their all hard work, owners felt it was the right thing to do – now getting the all-clear to reopen once again. Confirming that they’d getting back to some semblance of normality this week, the team shared an update on social media.
‘Following our recent decision to temporarily close in the interest of keeping our staff, customers and families safe, we are delighted to be in the position to share this post with you all.
Each of our staff have been tested for Covid 19 and all results are negative. Following all HSE guidelines, it is safe for us to reopen on Thursday 3rd of September from 9am.
I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful Cornerstone staff for the support they offered each other through this difficult time and I know they are looking forward to returning to a very happy and safe work place.
I also want to acknowledge our understanding customers for all the respectful calls and messages both on social media and privately. We look forward to welcoming you back and we are looking forward to meeting new customers also.’
Locals have welcomed the good news with open arms, wishing the team continued good health and success for the rest of the year.
