Sligo is famous for many things.
Its romance with WB Yeats, its charming idyllic town, the beautiful countryside and, of course, Westlife – but it’s time shed some light on their stunning food.
Here’s a guide to Sligo’s tastiest eateries and bars.
A Casa Mia
This casual tapas restaurant serves up some of the best Italian in town. The perfect spot for sharing some platters and a few drinks with your mates, or is ideal for smaller bites on your own.
Knox
Not only is Knox one of the best in the county, it could very well be one of the best spots in Ireland.
They repeatedly knock it out of the park with their original dishes. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner – all amazing, every time.
Miso
I’m pretty picky when it comes to my sushi, but Miso is a huge yes from me. There’s is something so right about this place.
They source all of their fish from fishermen in Ballina and Killybegs – and it really makes the difference.
Lillies
Do you have a penchant for cocktails in fancy, pretty bars? Yeah, me too.
Lillies is GORGE and their live music is the perfect soundtrack for your night out on the lash. Dreamy.
Hargadons
A modern take on a traditional pub, Hargadons has a great atmosphere, unreal grub and fab staff.
Try the Lissadell chowder or or the moules frites, no place for fresher seafood than on along the Wild Atlantic Way. Delish.
Montemartre
The Coq au Vin here is LITERALLY to die for. Good French cuisine is pretty scarce in Ireland but Montemartre have nailed it.

Coach Lane at Donaghy’s
Last, but most certainly not least, we have the lovely Coach Lane in Donaghy’s bar.
Many consider this the best food in all of glorious Sligo and I can confirm that the bread in the bar is some of the best on our fine isle.
Well, what are you waiting for?
Away to Sligeach you go.
