BREAKING: Shots Fired After Suspected Armed Robbery This Morning

A Garda investigation is underway after a suspected armed robbery in Co. Laois. 

According to the Irish Independent, a man entered a filling station in Mountrath, Abbeyleix at around 12.35am this morning and threatened a staff member with a firearm before leaving with an amount of cash.

He then fled the scene in a car before crashing outside a house in Derrykearn. A firearm was discharged when the occupants of the home checked on the man’s wellbeing.
