Eight People Safely Rescued From Overturned Boat Off Irish Coast

Eight people were safely rescued from an overturned boat off the coast of Sligo this morning. 

The alarm was raised at approximately 11.30am today when the boat got into difficulty off Aughris Head at Skreen, Sligo. 

The Irish Coast Guard and local RNLI units were involved in the rescue operation.

One person is being treated for serious injuries at Sligo University Hospital after the incident and one other person suffered minor injuries.
