Safety Fears After Woman Attacked With Machete In Galway

A public meeting has taken place in Eyrecourt in Galway after a woman was attacked with a machete. 

According to Galway Bay FM, the incident occurred on Friday evening when a number of cars were smashed by a group using weapons. A 26-year-old woman, who was in one of the cars, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck with a machete.

Over 300 people attended the meeting on Saturday amid safety fears. A further meeting is due to take place later today to discuss anti-social behaviour in the area.
