Irish Schools May Remain Closed Tomorrow Due To Hurricane Ophelia

The Department Of Education has advised schools to consider remaining closed tomorrow and possibly Tuesday due to Hurricane Ophelia.

The major weather event has warranted a red weather warning, the highest there is, with gusts of more than 130km/hr expected to hit Ireland’s west coast tomorrow.

According to The Irish Times, the Department of Education has already advised schools that are likely to be affected by Ophelia to consider remaining closed during the storm and to keep appraised of any updates on the weather’s situation.

Furthermore, Bus Eireann has already cancelled numerous bus routes tomorrow because of the storm, stating that the safety of the schoolchildren has to be their number one priority.
