This Kerry Councillor Wants Dogs To Be Made To Wear Nappies

James Fenton

Good idea or a load of shite?

A councillor in Kerry reckons he has come up with the perfect solution to the problem of dog fouling in the county.

Fianna Fáil’s Michael O’Shea believes owners picking up waste is unhygienic and that the issue is a danger to children playing in open green areas.

He told Radio Kerry:

“I would call on the Minister or those in power that they would look at a company that would design nappies for dogs.

“It is definitely unhygienic for any person carrying a dog for a walk to be scooping up after a foul and to be carrying it around with them until they find a suitable bin.”

Is Councillor O’Shea right or does this idea stink?
