A Renmore man in his fifties was rescued from the water in Galway city centre last night shortly after midnight.
He is now said to be recovering in hospital, according to Galway Bay FM.
This was the third water-related casualty over the Bank Holiday weekend in Galway.
On Sunday evening a 29-year-old Athenry man died in hospital after being rescued from the water near Woodquay that morning.
In a separate incident on Sunday, a man’s body washed up in Salthill at around 10am.
The man, who was discovered by a member of the public, was believed to be in his 50s and from the Inverin area.
Gardaí are investigating but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
