This Sligo café is every vegan’s dream

Vegan cafe

Sligo is quickly gaining traction with foodies as the place to be, and for good reason, it seems.

The restaurant scene is thriving down in Yeats County, with options to suit every palate and dietary requirement…including vegan.

One of my favourites? The Gallery Café on Grattan Street.

Run by Laura, who learned all her cooking and baking skills from her granny, you can feel her genuine passion for food a mile off. Sweet, savoury, vegetarian, gluten-free…you name it, they more than likely have it.

I mean, they even have a vegan fried ‘shrimp Po Boy’ for crying out loud.

Known for their Triple Certified Organic coffee, it’s the vegan full-Irish that I’ll be pairing a cup of the good stuff with. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Plenty of fodder for anyone partaking in Veganuary. Take a look at some of the drool-worthy options on the menu below.

Vegan apple pie French toast…I had no idea such a thing existed but now that I do, it’s all I can think about. Absolute whopper indeed.

Centrally located, reasonably priced, friendly staff. What more could ya want?

Perfect for a post-swim feed, if you’re brave enough.
