There’s a new spot to get coffee at after climbing Carrauntoohil

Because you need a reward after an excursion like that.

Carrauntoohil is the highest mountain on the Ireland, perched proudly upon the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry.

It’s a challenging climb that attracts hikers from all over the world, and is relatively close by to other scenic Kerry spots such as the Gap of Dunloe and Killarney National Park.

But if you’re anything like me, you won’t be wondering about what kind of hiking boots to wear or which route to take to the summit – you’ll just be on the hunt for the nearest coffee shop.

And it’s closer than you think.

Carrauntoohil Coffee Hut is located, you guessed it, at the foot of Carrauntoohil, right next to the Lisleibane carpark. Pouring locally sourced speciality coffee from Killarney Coffee Roasters accompanied by freshly baked treats and filling toasties, it’s the perfect place to treat yourself after your climb – or just to sit and enjoy coffee with a view. No better spot for it.

The hut also have plenty of vegan treat options, along with all your favourite plant based milks.

You can even rock up to them on horse back if the feeling takes you.
