This New Dublin Podcast Showcases All The Hidden Nooks And Crannies The City Has To Offer

katedemolder

Ever wonder to yourself how many parts of Dublin you’ve totally missed out on over the years? All the hidden gems you’ve potentially strolled right by?

Well, have we got news for you.

Brand new podcast, Dublin Date, has been set up by Dubliner John Kelly in order to inform the masses of all the nooks and crannies Dublin has to offer, from the perspective of some of its most well-known citizens.

Unnamed

The preface of the podcast is this; a friend of the guest is paying a flying visit to Dublin but can only stay 12 hours. In that limited amount of time, where does our guest choose to take their visitor? What spots in Dublin hold importance to them? Where would they spend their Dublin Date?

So the whole recording covers a 12 hour ‘date’, including spots for breakfast, spots for an afternoon activity, spots for lunch, an evening activity, a final night-cap.

What a deadly idea!

We spoke to the creator of Dublin Date, John Kelly, who informed us of the inspiration behind the podcast:

“I sometimes get annoyed when people visit Dublin and beeline straight to the Guinness Storehouse or Temple Bar. Especially when these people have no interest in drinking. So I want to create a podcast series that examines all the different facets of Dublin through the eyes of some of our most well-known citizens; comedians, television stars, politicians, historians etc. who can each bring a unique view of Dublin to a recording. Ideally, I’d like people to listen to these and find something different about our town that appeals to them.”

Kick-starting off the whole thing is none other than Mr Don Conroy – who John interviewed just this week.

Lined-up guests include everyone from Paul Howard (of Ross O’Carroll Kelly fame) to David Norris – giving you the inside scoop on what it is they love to spend their time doing in Dublin’s fair city.

Perfect for hints, tips and also getting to know exactly what some of Dublin’s best and brightest like getting up to.

And if the thought of listening to Don Conroy didn’t make you jump for joy – then we don’t know what to think…

The first episode of the deadly series can be found right here.
