This just might be the nicest thing we have heard today.
A restaurant owner in Galway has started up an initiative alongside the Simon Community to get some of their members part of The Positive Placement Project.
Gill Carroll who owns 56 Central on Shop Street in Galway has decided to give something back to the homeless community, and it has really warmed our hearts.
Just over two weeks ago, Gill took on two young people who are clients of the Galway Simon Community.
The Connacht Tribune reported that the the pair will be taught basic cooking skills and kitchen etiquette for four hours once a week, for five weeks with chef, Vicky Donley.
This is completely sound.
The popular restaurant is renowned for their work with the Simon Community and last year they helped raise enough funds to build a kitchen in a women’s residential service of the Galway Simon Community.
Is this the nicest restaurant ever?
This news definitely brightened up our day.
It’s such a brilliant idea.
