Two people were rescued off the coast of Galway yesterday afternoon.
According to RTÉ, the man and woman had walked out to Hare Island from Ballyloughane Beach. When they tried to return back to the mainland, the tide had come in quicker than they expected and had cut them off.
The pair called Galway RNLI Lifeboat, who came to rescue them shortly after 1:30pm.
The lifeboat escorted them back safely to Galway Docks and they didn’t have any injuries.
