25 of the Most Expensive Properties for Sale Right Now

Word on the street is that the Boom is Back. With that in mind and the fact we Irish are completely and utterly obsessed with property, I felt it apt to make a list (we all love a good list). And with the help of trusty Daft.ie (yeah that site we all look at in bed and to help us fall asleep) I’ve found some of the hottest (and some of the nottest), most expensive properties with price tags of over €3m on the market across the country right now.

25. The Lisselan Estate, Clonakilty, Co. Cork – Detached House €6,950,000

Described as a French chateau (that’s castle to you and I) this estate is set on the banks of the Argideen River. The 10,000 square foot gaff boasts 8 bedrooms, 315 acres, a private fishing bank and a golf club. Not too shabby.

24. Abbotts Hill, Malahide, Co. Dublin – Detached House €3,600,000

This 5 bedroom house in the northside of the capital has its own cinema, 11m pool, jacuzzi (spa by the sounds of it), a games room and a double garage to park the extra cars.

23. The Courtyard At Temple Grove, Carrs Hill, Douglas, Co. Cork – Apartment For Sale €5,500,000

Bloody hell, this is how much a 1 bed costs? Well you better like being a complete recluse so. Extortionate and the interior sucks for the price. Let’s hope its a typo.

22. 72A Seafield Road East, Clontarf, Dublin 3 – Detached House €3,250,000

This 5 bedroom beauty has been so tastefully designed and clearly loved by the previous owners.

21. Clonskeagh Road, Clonskeagh, Dublin 14 – Apartment For Sale €3,000,000

One, photo… we all know what that means- probably a ‘shit hole’. I drive past this stretch everyday. Not worth the money.

20. St Leonard’s, Marino Avenue East, Military Road, Killiney, Co. Dublin – Detached House €3,850,000

This elegant tudor style house certainly feels homely. The only thing is it definitely needs a bit of love in the makeover department, I mean LOOK at that green carpet.

19. Ballyneale House, Ballingarry, Co. Limerick – Detached House €3,000,000

There’s that perfect whiff of old money and cigars off this place. Absolutely stunning. A beautiful country retreat if you have the extra cash.

This mock Georgian balances old architecture perfectly with a modern twist. Fair enough price tag for the quality of work behind this 5,000+ square foot property.

17. `Cuil Min` 56 Sydney Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin – Detached House €3,250,000

This private property in Blackrock south county Dublin seems lovely but really lacks personality (its a bit vanilla one might say) bar the one nice bit of artwork in the modern living room. Would make a fabulous family home no doubt.

16. 7 Shrewsbury Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 – Semi-Detached House €6,000,000

Are we surprised with the price tag, no I didn’t think so. A gaff on the most expensive square on the Monopoly board is up for sale. It has every single light fitting, bit of furniture and appliance removed so for some it might be hard to visualise just how stunning the space could be. Most definitely overpriced though IMO.

15. Roundwood Park, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow – Site For Sale €5,500,000

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes… this is my kind of day dreaming. You’d know it was home to some super arty types who definitely never owned a track-suit. Sits on 373 acres of stunning landscape.

14. Ballindoolin House, Carbury, Co. Kildare – Site For Sale €3,250,000

Another bit of lusty land here, 250 acres in the infamous Co. Kildare. Its TRADITIONAL to the hilts. Get the lads from Downton Abbey in quick to do a bit of filming. No sign of a microwave here that’s for sure.

13. Hollywood House, Glenealy, Co. Wicklow – Detached House €3,500,000

This grand house has a massive driveway- full kilometre long. Other than that its a stunning property but again looks like it needs a bit of a refurb oh and a full time gardener to keep it looking stunn.

12. Capard House, Rosenallis, Co. Laois – Detached House €5,500,000

Its a protected structure so not much room if you like knocking down walls. Lets say the people who renovated this house weren’t afraid of a pop of colour… Nice bit of history behind this Greek inspired property too and the Daft description is very, very long but does hilariously name different sections of this house ‘wings’.

11. Nerano, Nerano Road, Dalkey, Co. Dublin – Detached House €3,500,000

If the seaside is your idea of heaven then this property is for you. In need of a total refurb but if you’re forking out 3.5 mil then I don’t think money is an object.

10. Borleagh Manor, Gorey, Inch, Co. Wexford – Detached House €4,750,000

Borleagh manor is a horse lover’s haven. This house has been beautifully kept and is a bargain for the amount of land and inclusive of the stables.

9. 1 Nutgrove Avenue, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 – Site For Sale €4,700,000

A property developer’s dream. This plot of land is situated in the leafy suburb of Rathfarham, once considered the pure countryside that’s now just the greater Dublin region and a 3 minute drive from Dundrum Town Centre. Its less than 1 acre but you could stuff a good few houses or an apartment block in there no problem!

8. The Crescent, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 – Site For Sale €3,000,000

0.615 acre site which used to be part of St. Mary’s Convent (one of the more famous Magdalene laundries) in the heart of Donnybrook would be the perfect location for some commerical properties or even apartments.

Excellent condition. But what would you be doing with the swimming pool honestly? Unless you’re training for the Olympics or something. If you can afford a swimming pool then you can afford a gym membership and head down and be sociable, we don’t live in California.

Love me some art deco. This gaff is amazing, and then massively lets itself down in the interiors department. Views are worth it though.

As a Dubliner, this is my favourite stretch of property in the county. Those views and you’d be neighbours with good old Bono and Enya (yeah that bird who’s never done a live gig in her life). Sail away.

4. Myrtle Lodge, Ballyflannigan, Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow – Detached House €5,000,000

Jesus I’d love to tell the photographer to chill out on the exposure. This is what I call Malibu Barbie’s Dream Ranch. Set in the lovely Brittas Bay which is the no.1 staycation destination for Dubliners over the summer months.
