3. Okja
A huuuuge success at Cannes Film Festival, Okja tells the story of a girl and her pet; he just happens to be a genetically bred super-pig primed for consumption.Â
4. LovesickÂ
If you’re in the mood for a sitcom instead of a film, this British comedy will give you a giggle. Set in a series of flashbacks as Dylan tells his ex-girlfriends he’s got chlamydia, each episode will leave you wanting more.
5. Cable Girls
Being a woman in 1928 was no easy task. Four women in search of independence are brought together through their work as telephone operators.Â
Makes for excellent watching.Â
6. Obvious ChildÂ
While going through a pretty shitty period in her life, what with her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend, New York comedian Donna (Jenny Slate) has a one night stand and later discovers that she’s pregnant. She doesn’t know if she should have the child or tell the father she’s pregnant…Â
Sounds serious, but it’s weirdly hilarious.
7. Wet Hot American Summer
Here’s a cult classic that all comedy fans need to watch at some point… Set in a summer camp during 1981, Wet Hot American Summer stars a host of celebrities from before they became huge, including Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler and Elizabeth Banks.
8. Heist
Who doesn’t love a good heist?
Throw Robert DeNiro in there and you know you’re onto a winner.
He plays a loving father who is too broke to pay his daughter’s medical bills. So naturally he robs a bank. As you do.
