People from far and wide are descending on the All Together Now festival in Co. Waterford today for a long weekend of festival fun. After splashing out for tickets and making camping arrangements, it’s fair to say most that revellers won’t be put off by any injuries or ailments they might pick up before heading off and it seems this attitude is mirrored in the performers too.
DJ Erol Alkan, who is due to wrap up the incredible Arcadia Afterburner at the festival tonight, has taken to Twitter to inform his followers that he’s picked up a bad ankle sprain. Not to be put off, he states that fans ‘don’t take it personally’ if he’s motionless tonight and that he’s ‘in major pain but not cancelling.’
Hey @ATNfestival .. looking forward to closing the Arcadia Afterburner tonight, I’ve managed to badly sprain my ankle so please don’t take it personally if I’m motionless tonite. I’m in major pain but not cancelling. See you later. #atn19

That’s the Bank Holiday spirit we need! We’re not sure what doctors would make of this decision but the commitment to the cause has to be commended.
Roll on the weekend and here’s to Erol’s speedy recovery.
