This in lieu of the Friends reunion special which has had to be postponed until things get somewhat back to normal.
It seems that an official Friends cookbook is on the way and it's just the news we need, given that the reunion episode we were so looking forward to has been postponed.
Hearts were set aflutter back in February of this year when it was revealed that all six core stars of the original show had signed on for an unscripted reunion special - organised to celebrate the launch of online streaming platform HBO Max. However, as with most everything else, plans were brought to a halt due to Covid-19.
All is not lost though as thankfully things haven't been scrapped altogether and filming has merely been postponed until such time it's considered safe to roll cameras again. PHEW. But if you're in need of a distraction until then, it seems that an official cookbook is on the way. Of course, there have been several Friends-themed cookbooks over the years but this claims to be the first official one.
Packed full of over 50 recipes, the book will include meals inspired by the hit 90s series with options to suit all abilities ranging from the Monica Gellers to the Rachel Greens amongst us. Including a recipe for Rachel's famous trifle. Though I'm intrigued to see what exactly that one will include, as, despite Joey's claims, I don't think custard, jam and beef really do go together as well as he says they do.
Other recipes set to feature include Monica's Moist Maker Sandwich, Phoebe's Grandmother's Chocolate Chip Cookies and one dubbed Chandler's Milk You Can Chew which is intriguing, to say the least. The official Friends cookbook is available to pre-order on Amazon now.
