‘King Of Irish Country Music’ Big Tom McBride Has Died

The ‘Irish king of country music’ ‘Big Tom’ McBride has sadly passed away at the age of 81.

His family took to the Singer’s Facebook page to announce the news. 

In a statement they said that:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Big Tom McBride(RIP) this morning,” a statement on the singer’s official Facebook page said.

“Dad passed away peacefully in the company of his family.

“He will be sadly missed by all who new him.

“May he rest in peace.”

Big Tom first got into music in Ireland in 1966 and has three Irish number one singles as well as a host of top ten albums and singles.

He toured with two bands: Big Tom and The Mainliners and Big Tom and The Travellers and has produced hits such as: ‘Four Country Roads’, ‘The Same Way You Came In’ and ‘Gentle Mother’
