Swedish DJ Tim Bergling AKA Avicii has passed away aged 28, his publicist has confirmed.
In a statement, Diana Baron said:
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.
“He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
Avicii sprang into the mainstream with his 2011 international hit Levels which reached number three in the Irish charts. He went on to become one of the most recognised DJs in the world with follow-up songs such as Hey Brother and Wake Me Up.
