20 years after TV3 was first launched, the television station is set to undergo a rebrand.

At today’s launch of its springtime schedule it was announced that from this autumn, it will be known as Virgin Media Television

TV3 first went to air on September 20 1998 and has since evolved into a major rival to the government-funded RTÉ.

The station was bought by Virgin Media Ireland in 2015 and now specialises in a number of genres from news to reality TV to sport. Next month, it will take over the much-coveted Six Nations coverage from RTÉ.
