PIC: This Place In Canada Has A Town Called ‘Londonderry’ And It’s 15 Miles From A ‘Manchester’ Too

Darragh Berry

We’ve gone almost 250 years without realising that there’s a place in Canada called Londonderry.

The town in Vermont is home to nearly 2,000 people and the town itself is split into North Londonderry and South Londonderry.

The town itself was named after Londonderry in New Hampshire which is a state in New England.

But, that town in New Hampshire is in turn, actually named after the place in Northern Ireland.

It’s also situated around 10 minutes from a place called ‘Manchester’ which makes you wonder if they come up with any of the town names themselves.

It’s famous for a tourist attraction known as the Magic Mountain. The skiing place has a vertical drop of 1,500 feet and is a replica of the Swiss Alps.
