Have Montblanc Finally Cracked The Smart Watch?

niallharbison

2014 was the year when every brand in the world seemed to announce a “Smart Watch”. While we all wait with baited breath for the Apple Watch a competitor, Montblanc, are fast out of the traps in 2015 as one of the first traditional high end watch makers to tackle the category in their own unique way. They’ve kept the traditional form of the watch and put the emphasis on a smart strap.

The strap is built into their own custom leather made in Italy and allows users to pair it up with a smart phone (Android or iOS) and gives users notifications about messages, calls and some basic fitness tracking. The strap will also vibrate and act as a remote control for your phone (for taking pictures etc).

While this looks like one of the better smart watch offerings because it keeps a classical design intact we still don’t feel any sort of need for a smart watch. Even if we did the $475 price tag for the strap alone would have us running a mile.
