We featured the $1.3m LaFerrari car in our luxurious gift guide on Lovin Trends. Hublot, the Swiss luxury watch makers are famous for being responsible for the world's most expensive watch the Big Ban 5 Million, the clue about the price is in the name, yes $5m. Hublot have had a long lasting luxurious relationship with Ferrari and in celebration of the 500 limited edition cars, they created a limited edition $300k watch.

There are only 50 of these watches out there, rarer than the car itself. Not sure how many have been sold as I recently saw an ad for one in a magazine. The watch was launched in April 2013 and I have a sneaky suspicion not many have been sold and I'm sure that the ones that have been didn't take out the 0% finance deal.

The 637 piece watch itself looks like an engine. Its built with similar metals and components to the car. Its tourbillion mechanism has a 50 day power reserve, which is a record. Owners of fine timepieces don't talk too loud about how unreliable they are keeping time. Put a fancy watch down for a few days and its life force disappears. Your $100 Casio G-Shock will keep trucking keeping accurate time but your Hublot will need constant attention and kinetic body movement to keep a semi-accurate time. Until now, for $300k you get a mini power drill that will wind your watch to keep it going for 50 days.

The 11 barrels allow you to decrypt the time in a unique way. A beautiful watch no doubt but for $300k I'd probably settle for a small apartment in the alps with a view of Switzerland rather than own one of its lovely exports.
