Champions League Final – Kick-off time, TV info and more

James Fenton

The Champions League Final takes place on Saturday night as Manchester City and Chelsea go head-to-head for the chance to be crowned kings of the continent.

It’s a first Champions League Final for Manchester City but Chelsea have reached this stage twice before and both occasions ended in a penalty shootout. In 2008 they lost to Manchester United in Moscow before beating Bayern Munich on the German side’s own turf in 2012.

Thomas Tuchel has only been in charge of The Blues since January and he will be under no illusions as to the size of the task posed by Pep Guardiola’s formidable Manchester City side. The Citizens are hoping to complete a treble of trophies this season, having already clinched the League Cup and the Premier League title and they start the game as comfortable favourites. Here’s everything you need to know…

What channel is the 2021 Champions League Final on?

Irish viewers will be able to watch the Champions League Final on Virgin Media Two.

What time is it at?

The build-up gets underway at 7pm ahead of an 8pm kick-off.

Will it be worth my while?

It’s always a great occasion with plenty of pomp and ceremony, even if the games don’t always live up to the billing! If it ends up being anything as dramatic as the conclusion to Wednesday’s Europa League Final, then we could be in for a bumpy night.
