A TV show that puts viewers to sleep... seems a bit contradictory but we're intrigued.
A World of Calm is a new TV series, commissioned by HBO Max, that will see some of Hollywood's finest team up in an effort to send people off to dreamland. Based on the Calm app, the series aims to help viewers fall asleep by having different actors/actresses narrate soothing bedtime stories.
Sounds good in theory, but will it work? Running on the same premise as the app, users have been raving about Calm since it launched - praising it for its relaxing content and yes, its ability to help them get to sleep. So following that logic, a series based on the same app is sure to have similar effects.
So far, the likes of Idris Elba, Nicole Kidman and Keanu Reeves have all been confirmed for the project along with Cillian Murphy of Peaky Blinder's fame. Taking the form of a 10 part episode, the series will reportedly feature "mesmeric imagery" that will help audiences to wind down before bed.
No release date has been announced as of yet.
