The Cost Of An Average Irish Wedding Has Been Revealed – And We Reckon We’ll Be Staying Single

Look, let it be said that often we can barely afford a proper lunch at the end of the month, never mind a spare 20 odd grand for a slap-up meal for all the fam. 

So the news that the average Irish wedding costs a staggering €25,000 has us leaning towards a life of celibacy. 

Confetti Magazine revealed the results of their annual Irish wedding survey which includes the price breakdown of what couples spend on their big day.

With a 35% of couples admitting they went over the €25,000 budget, it appears that the highest cost of a wedding is the venue, which costs an average of €12,258. 

The average Irish couple invites 170 guests and spend about 20 months planning the whole shebang 

The survey also revealed that couples spend €1,969 on their wedding band and €461 on a DJ, while the wedding dress costs €1,697. 

Confetti also asked what was an appropriate amount for a cash gift? “74% said they’d give €100 if they were attending as a single guest, and of couples, 62% said they’d give €200 if they were invited together.”

As for the age of the average Irish bride? It’s 31, so best get saving now.
