The Cast Of Derry Girls Are Getting Their Own Mural In Derry City

Kiara Keane

The Derry Girls cast will be getting their own mural in Derry City in celebration of their return to our screens in 2019.

Season two of the hit comedy series recently wrapped filming and is expected to arrive on our screens in early March.

The Belfast Telegraph reports that to mark the occasion, a mural of the main characters, Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and James, will be painted on the side of Badgers Bar on Orchard Street.

Derry-based, non-profit social enterprise UV Arts will be working with the Channel 4 in-house creative agency, 4Creative, to produce the artwork as part of the season two ad campaign.

Speaking about the new season on BBC Radio Ulster’s The Nolan Show earlier this month, the show’s creator Lisa McGee said, “I love it. We’re editing it now.

“It’s better than season one, it’s a bit more ambitious and because we know what we’re doing a bit more, it’s better.”
