Here’s When Derry Girls Will Be Back On Our Screens For Season 2

Kiara Keane

It’s somehow already been a year since Derry Girls first arrived on our screens and became a smash hit around the world and thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer for its return.

Series two recently wrapped filming and is expected to arrive on our screens very soon, as confirmed by the show’s creator Lisa McGee herself.

As well as that, she also revealed that they’ve already got a season three in the pipeline.

Speaking on BBC Radio Ulster’s The Nolan Show, she explained, “They’re talking about March, early March. See, that’s all Channel 4.

“That’s when I think it will be released and we’re talking about doing a third series.

“Hopefully, if the second one goes well and everything goes according to plan, we’ll do a third series.”

She added, “I love it. We’re editing it now. It’s better than season one, it’s a bit more ambitious and because we know what we’re doing a bit more, it’s better.”

If you’re one of the few people who hasn’t seen Derry Girls yet (and we thoroughly recommend that you go watch it), the comedy follows the lives of Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and Michelle’s English cousin, James, as they grow up in Derry during the Troubles in the early 90s.
