It Might Be A World Cup ‘Rest Day’ But There’s Still A Huge Match On The Telly Tonight

James Fenton

Think you’ll be able to take a break from the footy tonight? Think again.

It might be a World Cup ‘rest day’ with the group stage now complete but the never-ending soccer wheel rolls on as RTÉ brings us a crucial match from the League Of Ireland tonight.

The top-of-the-table clash sees second placed Dundalk play host to leaders Cork City in a game which could potentially decide the destination of the Premier Division title this year.

With only one point separating the two sides after the summer break, Dundalk will be hoping to overtake their rivals before the title race really gathers pace.

The match will be brought to you live on RTÉ 2 by Tony O’Donoghue from 7.30pm with kick-off taking place five minutes later.

Something to keep an eye on the beer garden tonight. Can’t go wrong.
