The Worst News About Electric Picnic Coverage Has Been Confirmed And It’s Only The First Day

Darragh Berry

The first weekend of September has always meant the beginning of one of the world’s greatest festivals.

Electric Picnic is kicking off on Friday and for the thousands that are heading down, they’ll expect a weekend of music mixed with plenty of fun in between.

And for those of us who aren’t getting down (not by choice, it was impossible to get a ticket), there’s always the highlights on RTÉ to look forward to.

We were looking forward to listening to some banging tunes while we got ready to hit the town in order to try and soak up the atmosphere from Stradbally into our sitting rooms.

Or, we’d just sit there and listening to the music, crying, wishing we were getting soaked because it’d be all worth it.

Well lad, I’m after looking at my television guide and there is no listings for Electric Picnic on RTÉ.

Nope, nada, zilch.

Bring it to hawkeye – it’s a Níl.

2FM will be offering extensive coverage of the festival alright but it’s just not the same.

And you can’t blame the GAA because the hurling final was on the same time last year too.

Feck it anyway.
