Gerry Adams has always been some man for the gas tweets but his latest effort has his Twitter followers more baffled than ever.Â
The Sinn Féin leader is due to step down next month and the fact that he will have plenty more time on his hands can be seen as a good or bad thing depending on your point of view.Â
Last night, Gerry tweeted perhaps his most pointless, albeit strangely entertaining, brainfart yet as he went off on a wee ramble about eating an ostrich egg.Â
When I was 20 I ate an Ostrich egg. I was working in the Duke of York. A guy from Belfast AZoo gave me it. I boiled it in a kettle & used a pint glass as an egg cup. I took me an hour 2 eat it. With toast & tea. & a soup spoon. Just saying.

Okay, Gerry. We hear ya.Â
We weren’t the only ones perplexed as some of the comments underneath the post will testify.Â
This sounds like an extract from a short story from The Gospel According to Blindboy @Rubberbandits

I believe my uncle, John Moss, worked with you in the Duke of York. I must ask him about that one.
