President Michael D Higgin’s has released his Christmas message to the people of Ireland and it’s wonderful.
Displaying his incredible gift for oration, the poet-president reminds us of the hardships we faced over the year, drawing parallels between the circumstances of Christ’s birth, with its forced migration, and the plight of refugees the world over.
He talks about economic freedoms, the fight against racism, and reminds us of 1916. It was a dark year, but Higgins reminds us to focus on the light in 2017.
