On Thursday, Apple confirmed they have taken measures to reduce the phone's capacity the older it gets, but not for the reasons everyone thought. In fact, it was to keep up with the ageing battery, Apple claims.
Now, they are facing multiple law suits, after customers claimed the company has been 'deceptive' and 'immoral'.
One user on Reddit, however, found a simple hack to solve the symptoms of an older iPhone: replace the battery.
There are a few different ways to replace your old iPhone battery; you can do it yourself, or take it to a third party store, but BE WARNED, this will void your warranty with Apple and they will no longer fix your iPhone should anything happen to it after replacing the battery.
Apple also offer a battery replacement service for £79, which, if you think about it, is the cheaper option to buying a new phone. According to the article, this will rejuvenate your old iPhone, restoring your beloved 4S back to former speedy glory (in theory).
