I’m A Celebrity 2020 officially confirmed

Sarah Finnan

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will officially go ahead later this year.

In somewhat unexpected news (let’s be honest, none of us really thought it would get the green light did we?), I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has been given the go-ahead for 2020.

According to ITV, the popular reality series will return to TV screens later this year – along with a one-off show called I’m A Celebrity: A Jungle Story, that will look back at some of the series’ best moments in honour of its 20th anniversary. 20 years of celebs being at one with nature and eating supposed Australian ‘delicacies’… time flies, eh?

And yes, Ant and Dec are expected to return as hosts of the show. It just wouldn’t be the same without them.

It’s yet unsure what precautions will be in place against Covid-19, but it’s believed that all cast and contestants may be required to quarantine for a period of two weeks prior to entering the jungle.

The announcement comes not long after show bosses revealed that a change of location would be considered in order to allow the series to go ahead. Typically filmed out in Australia, it’s believed that the action could be moved to Scotland to allow production to go ahead.

Wonder who will head into the jungle this year… any bets?
