Wondering what to watch tonight, sports fans? Wonder no more.
Irish soccer fans are getting a rare treat of having a choice of TWO live Champions League matches on terrestrial TV. Despite the fact we’ve yet to reach the group stage of this year’s competition, there’s still plenty to be decided as clubs from around the continent race to claim the last few spots in the elite tournament.
The best thing? There’s not a Manchester United game in sight (calm down, lads – this writer is a United fan, albeit a pretty fed-up one at the moment).
So who have we got to cheer for on the box later? Well, RTÉ 2 will be presenting live coverage of the play-off round first-leg between Portuguese giants Benfica and Greek side PAOK Salonika.
Meanwhile, over on b3, BATE Borisov of Belarus will take on take on Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.
Coverage of both games begins at 7.30pm so be sure to nab the remote before the Rose Of Tralee fan in your life comes looking for it.
