If you end up watching this documentary, you made it past Monday which, no matter if it’s on the hottest Summer day or is in the depths of winter, is always the worst day of the week.
Even Bank Holiday Mondays are shite tbh, you spend most of it hungover and fretting about all the work you have to fit into your four-day week now.
But, for getting through this Monday, you are being rewarded with a Louis Theroux treat.
One of his best documentaries, Louis Theroux: Dark States – Murder in Milwaukee is on Irish telly tonight.
In fairness, all of LT’s Dark States docs are amazing but this one is up there with some of his greatest work.
Louis examines gun crime and racial tensions in the US city, where the homicide rate is 12 times the national average and the police are frequently regarded with distrust.
Theroux follows police homicide officers as they investigate shootings while he also spends time with people who have lost loved ones to gun crime.
As well as this, he meets a former gang leader who has become a social activist dedicated to finding solutions to her city’s problems.
Louis Theroux: Dark States – Murder in Milwaukee is on RTÉ Two tonight at 22:25.
