TV Bosses In Talks To Make ‘Love Island Ireland’ And They Already Have A Host In Mind

James Fenton

You could say a lot of things about us Irish but for the most part we’re certainly not shy.

The outgoing nature of those on this island always makes for great TV, which is why an Irish version of Love Island would be certain to go down a storm. Well, it looks like that dream could now be a reality.

According to the Irish Daily Star, Virgin Media bosses are in talks to produce a version of the ITV mega-hit. Despite being UK-produced and featuring mostly UK contestants, this summer’s series attracted huge viewing figures on 3e here in Ireland and was arguably the biggest talking point in offices and pubs around the country. If the British version attracted that much attention, imagine how big an Irish one could be.

The publication also indicated that if Love Island Ireland is to be made, Lucy Kennedy is being lined up to host. But who should step into Iain Stirling’s shoes and narrate? Deirdre O’Kane? Baz Ashmahy? Dustin The Turkey? We’re spoiled for choice really.

Know anyone looking for love or just up for a bit of craic in the near future? Let them know that their ticket to fame could be on the way.
