And so begins the first proper weekend of 2022! Let us celebrate with some movies!

Julia Roberts, James Bond, Cameron Diaz, Jack Nicholson, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron and Daniel Radcliffe are all in the mix this evening!

My Best Friend's Wedding - FilmFour - 6.40pm

When a woman's (Julia Roberts) long-time friend (Dermot Mulroney) reveals he's engaged, she realises she loves him herself and sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding.

The Living Daylights - ITV4 - 8pm

James Bond (Timothy Dalton) is sent to investigate a KGB policy to kill all enemy spies and uncovers an arms deal that potentially has major global ramifications.

The Other Woman - Comedy Central - 9pm

After discovering her boyfriend is married, Carly (Cameron Diaz) soon meets the wife (Leslie Mann) he's been betraying. And when yet another love affair (with Kate Upton) is discovered, all three women team up to plot revenge on the three-timing S.O.B.

The Call - Virgin Media One - 9pm

When a veteran 911 operator (Halle Berry) takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she realises that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.

Colette - RTE Two - 9.30pm

Colette (Keira Knightley) is pushed by her husband (Dominic West) to write novels under his name. Upon their success, she fights to make her talents known, challenging gender norms.

The Missouri Breaks - TG4 - 9.45pm

Tom Logan (Jack Nicholson) is a horse thief. Rancher David Braxton has horses, and a daughter, worth stealing. But Braxton has just hired Lee Clayton (Marlon Brando), an infamous "regulator", to hunt down the horse thieves; one at a time.

Sea Fever - FilmFour - 11.05pm

The crew of a West of Ireland trawler, marooned at sea, struggle for their lives against a growing parasite in their water supply. Stars Dougray Scott and Connie Nielsen.

Music and Lyrics - RTE One - 11.30pm

A washed up singer (Hugh Grant) is given a couple days to compose a chart-topping hit for an aspiring teen sensation. Though he's never written a decent lyric in his life, he sparks with an offbeat younger woman (Drew Barrymore) with a flair for words.

Young Adult - BBC One - 11.55pm

Soon after her divorce, a fiction writer (Charlize Theron) returns to her home in small-town Minnesota, looking to rekindle a romance with her ex-boyfriend (Patrick Wilson), who is now happily married and has a newborn daughter.

Victor Frankenstein - Channel 4 - 1.30am

Told from Igor's (Daniel Radcliffe) perspective, we see the troubled young assistant's dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Viktor Von Frankenstein (James McAvoy), and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man - and the legend - we know today.
