WATCH: ‘Handsome Devil’ May Be The Best Irish Film Of 2017

James Fenton

“Everyone who’s ever been young…so that’s everyone ever… knows just what humiliation feels like.”

The enduring line from the trailer for Handsome Devil which we reckon will be a massive hit with Irish audiences when it hits the big screen at the Dublin International Film Festival later this month.

The film tells the tale of a blossoming friendship between music-loving outsider Ned (Fionn O’Shea) and temperamental rugby prodigy Conor (Nicholas Galatzine).

The two become mates after starting at the same rugby-obsessed boarding school, much to the chagrin of a testosterone-fuelled gang of bullies.

Written and directed by John Butler, the flick looks like an enjoyable coming-of-age comedy/drama which will be relatable to anyone who has gone through the awkwardness of youth… so, everyone.

Feast your gogglers on the trailer, which was released yesterday and look out for some famous faces among the supporting cast;

The film has been given rave reviews by the likes of the Hollywood Reporter and Screen Daily and we’re very much looking forward to checking it out.
