Aslan announces headline gig in Cork this October Bank Holiday

Cork Jazz Festival is set to bring the Rebel County to life this October bank holiday, with a line-up bigger and better than before.

Boasting all of the big names in the world of jazz and R&B, performers include Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Mica Paris Kurt Elling and Fred Hersch.

Amongst the other acts scheduled to perform is Irish songstress Sinead O’Connor and Dublin rock legends Aslan.

Both playing the Cork Opera House, Aslan will take to the stage on Friday, October 25 while Sinead will follow suit on Saturday, October 26.

Aslan has been busy touring, celebrating the 25th anniversary of their album Goodbye Charlie Moonhead and while they have played Leeside before this will be their first concert at the Opera House.

Expect to hear all of the old classics such as Games, Crazy World, Rainman and Where’s The Sun to name a few.

Doors open at 6pm and support on the night comes from Megan O’Neill who will kick things off with her sweet melodic musings from 7pm.

With gigs in over 70 venues across the city, it promises to be a jampacked weekend.
