‘Love you guys’ – Christina Aguilera shares viral video of teens singing at Connolly Station

James Fenton

A couple of weeks ago, a pair of budding singers drew plenty of attention when they performed a Christina Aguilera song at Connolly Station in Dublin.

The duo, namely Darragh Smith and Stephanie Starpong, wowed rail passengers with their rendition of Say Something by A Great Big World and Xtina herself, who was actually in the capital around the same time the video went viral.

Although they had never met before, Darragh and Stephanie have now appeared together on RTÉ’s Ray D’Arcy Show but the ultimate seal of approval arrived yesterday evening when Christina Aguilera shared the clip with her 6.4 million Instagram followers. Slightly higher numbers than the national broadcaster’s Saturday night slot, you would imagine.

Christina added the caption ‘Ain’t no other fans…like YOU guys.  Been having the time of my life on this leg of The X Tour. All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing…love you guys. Last show tonight!’ and you can see the post in all its glory below…

Christina Aguilera performed at the 3 Arena on November 5, famously enjoying a sing-song in Cassidy’s pub on Camden Street during her stay here. She has since wrapped up the European leg of her tour with dates in Glasgow, London, Manchester and Birmingham and will now head to Mexico for her final 3 shows of 2019.

She’s built up quite an affinity us here in Ireland and we’ll certainly look forward to welcoming her back.
