Netflix Releases First Look At House Of Cards Season 6

Megan Cassidy

Don’t get us wrong – we would NEVER wish the summer away, but we can’t quiet the little voice inside us that’s longing for Autumn and the return of Netflix original House of Cards.

We already knew the sixth season of the massively popular show would centre around Robin Wright’s character Claire Underwood, after Kevin Spacey was unceremoniously dumped from the cast following sexual misconduct accusations.

Last season saw Frank Underwood’s (Spacey) wife Claire sworn in as leader of the free world, however a twist at the end of the last episode saw Claire turn to camera and say ‘My turn’.

Indeed, Claire is now at the helm, and Netflix has released a host of first-look pictures depicting Claire as the President of the United States (at last).

Production of season six was halted in October 2017 when the allegations against Kevin Spacey emerged.

It was unclear as to whether the season would go ahead, but Netflix later announced it would continue filming but that the sixth season would be cut from 13 episodes to eight, with two episodes that had already been filmed featuring Spacey ending up on the scrap heap.
