Bored of scrolling through Netflix in Ireland and not being satisfied with what you’re seeing?
You fussy fu…
We mean, you don’t need to worry anymore because we have just found your newest addiction, and Ireland is one of the very few countries it’s available in.
Netflix newest original series ‘YOU’ will debut on Netflix in Ireland and all territories outside of the US and Turkey and it sounds like it’s going to be up there with 13 Reasons Why and Making A Murderer.
From executive producers/writers Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, and based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name (with a caption of ‘he waits, he watches, he follows on the front…), YOU is a 21st century love story about an obsessive, yet brilliant twentysomething who uses the hyper connectivity of today’s technology to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him.
The book was getting reviews of 90% and 4 out of 5 stars, left, right and centre…
“What would you do for love?”
When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything.
Using the Internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle — and person — in his way.
YOU follows “the riveting and hypnotic story of Joe Goldberg, an obsessive yet brilliant New Yorker, who exploits today’s technology to win the heart of Beck amid the growing suspicions of her best friend Peach.
“Joe transforms himself from stalker to boyfriend while doing whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles standing in his way — even if it means murder. Set in today’s 24/7 hyper-connected world, YOU explores how vulnerable we all are to stalking and manipulation online and in real life.”
