Remember how uncontrollably hooked you were when Making A Murderer came out first? Prepare to feel like that again.
Netflix has done it once again and their next new original documentary series will be all about The Alcàsser Murders.
It’s a four-part true story that will discuss one of the most horrendous and controversial crimes in Spanish history.
In 1992, the triple murder of teenagers shocked Spain because of how the media portrayed and reported on the inicident.
The three teenagers, Miriam García Iborra, Antonia “Toñi” Gómez Rodríguez and Desirée Hernández Folch, were brutally murdered in Alcàsser, Valencia, Spain – a crime that still remains unresolved after 25 years.
The case has been described by a Spanish Judge as a “journey to horror” that’s filled with controversy and numerous loose ends.
Netflix announced the news on their website on Tuesday and said that: “We are proud to embark upon our first Spanish original documentary and to bring this important story to both Spanish and global audiences”
Ramón Campos, an executive producer on the series said that: “Our intention is that this will be the ultimate documentary about one of the cases that shocked Spanish society for years.
“We will tell the stories of all people involved in an effort to try and clarify once and for all the truth of what happened that dreadful November 1992 in Alcàsser. We will offer everyone the opportunity to share their truth.”
Production on the series starts at the end of February and Netflix hope to release it in 2019.
