PIC: Irish Boxer Paddy Barnes Absolutely Disgusted With High Price Of ‘Sausage Sandwich’ At This Irish Bar

It’s probably a familiar sight for Paddy Barnes to spend a lot of time in airports.

The boxer from Belfast has represented Ireland and has won bronze for the tricolour in the Olympics as well as Gold in Commonwealth games and European Championships.

Since turning professional, he has won five and lost one with his first and only loss coming in August of this year in a decider for the WBC flyweight title.

Barnes is looking to bounce back from that defeat with a fight just before Christmas.

He will be on the undercard of the Josh Warrington v Carl Frampton IBF Featherweight fight on December 22 and told Irish Boxing that he wants to become a world champion in 2019.

“On December 22, I’m determined to get back to winning ways and then going on to having a big 2019.

“I’m aiming to become a world champion and I still believe I can do it within 10 professional fights.”

So, he’s currently in training but was hoping for a cheeky treat as he waited in Belfast Airport.

A sausage sandwich was on his mind but he was left wishing he hadn’t ordered anything.

“If your flying out of Belfast Airport make sure you call into the Lagan Bar, this sausage sandwich which they won’t even toast for you only costs neat £7 (€7.89) #bargain”.

He said he didn’t know any other way to describe the sandwich other than saying that it was “shite.”

For that price and they didn’t even cut the sandwich in half.
