Every now and then, a couple on First Dates Ireland get on really well, and we’re able to lower the cushion from in front of our faces and relax a little bit.
Thankfully that happened last night with 25-year-old Stephen and 27-year-old John.
The whole nation fell in head over heels with these cuties on their date, which happened to be the first one on the show conducted through sign language.
HR professional and Mr Gay Ireland Stephen learned to sign after growing up with a speech impediment that made it difficult for people to understand him, while design student John Charles is a member of the deaf community.
John Charles usually has to communicate with his dates via text, so it was great to see the conversation flowing.

Both Stephen and John Charles said yes to another date, but sadly Stephen has since emigrated to London.
